Last month, Child and Family Services proudly celebrated Tyrone Adams and his 20 years of dedication to the Agency. As a Child Care Therapy Aide, Tyrone has spent two decades making a meaningful impact on the lives of many children.

Before joining C+FS, Tyrone worked as a full-time teacher and supported older children with disabilities. This experience shaped his lifelong passion for working with the youth in our community. He began his career at C+FS as an Overnight Supervisor in our Residential Treatment Program, bringing with him a deep commitment to providing stability and understanding.

A driving force behind his work has been helping young people develop strong communication skills while supporting their emotional and mental growth. For Tyrone, being present, patient and consistent is key to helping children feel seen.

Looking back, Tyrone pointed to a powerful full-circle moment that has stayed with him.

“Every morning before the children went to school, I would talk to them about life and the importance of being present,” Tyrone recalled. “Nine years later, I ran into one of them at a store near my house. He hugged me and told me those talks had meant so much to him.”

For Tyrone, being able to serve as a role model for children has been deeply meaningful. He credits his career at C+FS with shaping him not only as a professional, but as a person and parent.

“I continue to work at C+FS because it keeps me grateful and humble at the same time,” he shared.

After 20 years, C+FS continues to be a place where Tyrone feels accepted, supported and empowered to do the work he loves. We are incredibly grateful to Tyrone for this compassion and dedication to the children and families we serve.
