We’re excited to share that our Youth Trafficking Prevention Program has been renamed Safer Tomorrows.

This new name reflects the heart of the program’s work – helping young people find safety, recognize their strengths and build healthier futures. It also creates a more welcoming pathway to support, removing language that could sometimes cause fear or uncertainty for young people and families.

While our name is changing, our commitment remains the same. Safer Tomorrows will continue to teach young people about safety and healthy relationships, support survivors and build skills for everyday life. They will also offer community trainings. Services are available for clients up to twenty-four years old.

The impact of this support can be seen in young people like Leigh,* who first came to us while experiencing active trafficking at just fourteen years old.

Leigh was hesitant to engage with adults and believed she could navigate difficult situations on her own. Some days, she would arrive for a meeting only to immediately decide she wanted to leave.

Her case manager kept showing up, encouraging Leigh. She listened without judgment and helped Leigh work through challenges as they came. She reminded Leigh of her progress and helped her see what was possible.

Through consistent one-on-one meetings, Leigh gradually began to open up. She found a safe space to express herself, process her experiences and begin thinking differently about how circumstances and her choices affected her life.

Now sixteen years old, Leigh’s growth has been remarkable. She is the one initiating meetings and arriving with specific goals she wants to accomplish. She has improved her school attendance, significantly reduced behaviors that placed her at risk and worked hard to strengthen communication with her parents.

After months of persistence, Leigh also recently reached a milestone she was especially proud of – landing her first job. It is an accomplishment that reflects not only her determination, but also her growing confidence in her ability to create opportunities for herself.

Her progress embodies what Safer Tomorrows means. It is not only about responding to exploitation. It is about helping young people recognize their strengths, advocate for their needs and gain the confidence and skills to shape what comes next.

Thanks to supporters like you, young people have someone in their corner as they work toward safer tomorrows.
