At Child and Family Services, we will learn about your child’s needs to ensure that they have the skills to succeed in everyday life.
Healthy families provide emotional, physical, and economic support for their members. They are also the building blocks of our society.
And yet, today’s families, no matter how strong and stable, may be stressed for a variety of reasons, including unemployment, poverty, divorce, substance abuse, family violence, and other life problems. Our Family Support Services program supports families through these issues, because we know that building strong families builds strong communities.
Any of the following prolonged or excessive behaviors may benefit from Family Support Services:
- Difficulty functioning in one’s normal capacity
- Extreme emotional reactions (excessive anger, fear, sadness, depression)
- Breakdown in communication between family members
- Withdrawn behavior
- Violence or the threat of violence to oneself or others
- Feelings of helplessness or hopelessness
- Behavior problems at home or school
- Difficulty coping with a traumatic incident
