While many of us are still physically apart, the Rachael Warrior Foundation reached out to Haven House with a generous gift.  Well before the pandemic, the Rachael Warrior Foundation held a gala called “Let Love Soar” with part of the proceeds to benefit Haven House. At that time, none of us realized just how much would change and the added impact this support would have in these uncertain times.

“The Haven House team and our clients are so grateful for the continued support we receive from the community,” said Sara Grady, Director of Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention Services. “We are especially grateful for the generous donation from the Rachael Warrior Foundation. The team at Rachael Warrior know better than most the devastating impact domestic violence can have on a family, but they have chosen to turn their grief into hope for so many individuals and families fleeing their own abuse. Donations like those from Rachael Warrior Foundation help us to provide for and meet so many needs of our residents and their children, so that they can focus on healing from their abuse and building a life free from violence.”

The Rachael Warrior Foundation was founded by family and friends of Rachael Wierzbicki. They remember her, taken too soon, by fighting domestic violence. Rachael’s parents, Mark and Lauri, lead the foundation. Mark explained how their mission aligns with the work at Haven House. “From what happened to Rachael, the idea was can we stop this from happening to somebody again? Can we get the folks that are in this situation out, and you guys are already doing it. You’ve had boots on the ground for a long time doing it, and we saw this as an opportunity to help out.”
