The Easter Bunny is getting a little help in preparing for Sunday!
Walsh Duffield has been putting baskets together for the children in Residential Care for 22 years. MaryEllen Downey of Walsh Duffield explained, “We wanted to do something directly for the kids. It has been very important for us to do something that will bring the kids joy and a little happiness.”
Employees from the Derrick Corporation are also making Easter special for the children in Residential Services by preparing an egg hunt.
“We couldn’t imagine being a child in these times,” said Steve Himmelman and Ron Schultz of Derrick Corporation. “Anything we can do to put back a little innocence and imagination into their lives will be good. We were fortunate to be able to enjoy activities like this in our youth and if we can share a little slice of the same with these kids it might make a difference on their rocky path.”
Knowing that the Easter Bunny has remembered them, even amid a pandemic when so much of life’s status quo has changed, is incredibly meaningful to the kids.
