For the first time in the event’s history, Fashion Show with a Twist was completely sold out, with over 300 people attending for a night of shopping, dinner and fashion! Child and Family Services’ (C+FS) employees, board members and volunteers rocked the runway with their own unique styles, all to raise money for Haven House, Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter. All proceeds raised will help provide emergency shelter, food, counseling, community outreach and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence.

Overall, over $34,000 was raised for Haven House. Leading into October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Fashion Show with a Twist serves as a platform to increase awareness about domestic violence prevention. Throughout the month, C+FS will be providing education and resources to inform about early signs of abuse and how to receive help.

A special tribute to survivors at Haven House was placed as a centerpiece on each table throughout the venue. The art empowerment program at Haven House allows survivors to express their creativity and share their stories through personal projects. Each masterpiece told a story of bravery, hope and survival.
