Last week, Falk Family Fun Night brought students, families, friends and staff together for an evening centered on connection and fun as the school year begins to wind down. Hosted at Falk-Cambridge, the event gave families an opportunity to step away from their daily routines and enjoy quality time together.
Throughout the evening, students and their families explored a variety of activity stations and even had a chance to win door prizes. The gym was filled with excitement as families took part in hands-on crafts like making slime, creating friendship bracelets and decorating picture frames. Students and their loved ones also enjoyed friendly competition through games including giant Connect Four, basketball, Kan-Jam and ping pong.
In the cafeteria, families gathered to enjoy carnival-themed treats like cotton candy, sno-cones and pizza while listening to live musical performances from both students and staff members. The hallways throughout the school offered even more opportunities for connection and support, including a “Book Nook” where students could select free books to take home and a clothing boutique for families to browse.
“You could really feel the energy throughout the building,” shared Mr. Smith, event organizer. “Watching students share these experiences with the people who support them is what makes events like this so meaningful.”
More than just a night of activities, Falk Family Fun Night reflected the strong sense of community that exists throughout Falk-Cambridge. Students proudly shared their school with the important people in their lives, while parents, guardians, siblings and friends connected with staff and one another, outside of the classroom.
“These events are the building blocks of bringing the community full circle,” Mr. Smith reflected. “When students, staff and families support one another, we are stronger.”
By creating spaces where families feel welcomed, Falk-Cambridge continues to foster an environment where students and families can thrive together.
