A new year is officially underway at Falk School, bringing students and staff back together for a new chapter of learning, experiences and opportunities. This year carries added significance as Falk celebrates its 40th anniversary.
While some students had only been away for a few weeks following summer school, others were returning after the entire summer or stepping through the Falk doors for the very first time.
“No matter how long they’ve been away, there is something special about having our students back in the building,” said Jodi Fodero, Principal of Falk-Mullen. “The energy, excitement and joy they bring are always contagious!”
Across Falk’s campuses, the first days of school were filled with reunions, introductions and opportunities to build connections for the year ahead. Each school welcomed students with festive touches, including the traditional balloon arches in Falk’s navy, gold and white. Students were able to stop by a photo station, where they posed with fun props to capture the excitement of the new school year.
As Falk celebrates its 40th anniversary, the day serves as a reminder of how far the school has come, growing from a single classroom with 17 students to a thriving school community spanning four campuses.
“Having our students back in the building brings a sense of purpose that you simply cannot replicate,” said Julie Pezzimenti, Principal of Falk-Cambridge. “Our staff came ready to connect, set a positive tone and start the year strong.”
The anniversary also offers an opportunity to celebrate the people and partnerships that have shaped the school’s journey while looking ahead to what comes next.
“I am incredibly grateful for the generations of students, families, staff members, school districts and community partners who have been part of Falk’s story,” shared Rachael Greene, Falk School Superintendent. “I am equally excited about the chapter we are writing together now.”
As the new school year begins, that commitment remains at the heart of its work as Falk looks toward the future and the possibilities ahead.
