This holiday season, Child and Family Services (C+FS) is once again decking the halls and collecting gifts for the annual Adopt-a-Family Program. This event supports children, families and individuals throughout the Agency programs who need some extra holiday cheer during what’s often a difficult time. This year, over 250 donors were matched with over 200 families reaching approximately 1,300 individuals.

“The need is absolutely growing,” said Alicia Stark, Development Manager. “Not only do families request new toys for their children, but their needs also include hygiene products, bedding, clothes and other essential items we often take for granted.”

The generosity of donors, sponsors and volunteers help bring the holiday spirit to life. Amazon returned as the Adopt-a-Family Lead Gingerbread Sponsor and presented C+FS with a $20,000 check to ensure the Western New York community has everything they need and more this holiday season. Amazon employees also volunteered their time by assisting with drop-offs and sorting through donations.

“We take enormous pride in working with organizations and initiatives that truly make a positive impact in the communities where we operate,” said Carley Graham Garcia, Amazon’s head of community affairs in New York. “This is an important time of year to show up for our neighbors and C+FS continues to do just that with its ever-growing Adopt-a-Family program. We are thankful for work that C+FS does for the community, and hope it brings joy to countless more this holiday season.”

Thank you, Amazon for helping us deliver holiday cheer to hundreds of families and for your commitment to the Adopt-a-Family Program!
