Buffalo, N.Y. – Michele Mehaffy and Ellen Notarius will co-chair the 21st annual Heartlight, Child & Family Services’ premier fundraiser to take place on Thursday, April 23 at the Admiral Room at the Marin. West Herr will return as this year’s Lead Sponsor.
Mehaffy is Consumer Affairs Manager for Wegmans Food Market stores in WNY. She is not only a company spokesperson, but also builds extensive community relationships, oversees strategic community investments based on the company’s giving priorities, manages consumer communications and supports Wegmans customers and employees. Wegmans is a proud Heartlight sponsor while also supporting C&FS during the Agency’s Adopt-a-Family and Toyland holiday fundraisers. Mehaffy also serves on the boards of FeedMore WNY, Explore & More Children’s Museum and the NY Funders Alliance.
Notarius is an Adjunct Professor of Communications at SUNY Buffalo State College, teaching courses on electronic news producing and electronic news reporting. She has over ten years of experience in broadcast news, working for WKBW-TV, WGR-AM 550, WBEN-AM 930, and WIVB-TV throughout her career. Notarius previously served as co-chair for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s The Dude Hates Cancer fundraiser.
Each year, Heartlight benefits thousands of children, individuals and families who turn to the Child & Family Services. Since its inception, Heartlight has raised nearly $2.5 million to help ensure that the Agency’s programs and services can continue to empower individuals in our community.
