Center for Resolution and Justice
The Center for Resolution and Justice, formed in 2005 brought together existing
Child & Family Services Restorative Justice programs with newly obtained Dispute
Resolution Programs.
The CRJ operates under the premise that in many cases the traditional court system
is not the best avenue to resolve disputes or to address crime. Child & Family Services
has brought the philosophies of Restorative Justice and Appropriate Dispute Resolution
under the same roof to provide our community with alternative approaches to certain
types of crime and dispute resolution!
What is Appropriate Dispute Resolution?
Appropriate Dispute Resolution includes a variety of process that individuals may
use to resolve the disputes that they are involved in.
Each process differs based on the degree to which the individuals involved control
the outcome and by the rules that govern each process.
At the Center for Resolution and Justice, we offer several processes for those who
wish to avoid the court system as a way to resolve their disputes. We believe that
when the individuals involved in a dispute have more control over the outcome, the
result is a higher rate of compliance, increased satisfaction, and in most cases,
lower cost!
